When the Baltimore Ravens cut Justin Forsett, we knew that there was something going on, we didn’t know about. In the past two days, following this story has been hard to do. The Baltimore Sun’s Jeff Zerbiec first reported that the Ravens could bring Forsett back. Throw in some reporting by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports and Ian Rappaport of NFL Network and you had a lot to pay attention to. This made for a very memorable beginning of September that’s for sure. Adam Wells of Bleacher Report wrote a piece on this story which really breaks down the timeline of all of the madness.

They had to work the system a little bit. With Matt Elam and Carl Davis being sent to injured reserve the Ravens had room to bring back Forsett and have also signed Devin Hester.
The real question here becomes the Ravens intentions at running back. When the Ravens said goodbye to Forsett, it was all but assumed that Terrance West was the Ravens number one back. Is this still the case? Perhaps Forsett was the one running back they knew they could get back. When you think about it, this is a solid theory. He’s 30 years old and the Ravens have an overwhelming amount of youth in their backfield. It comes off as a calculated risk that gave the Ravens time to make decisions on the 53 man roster.
The running back position is clearly the strength of this team. West looks like a completely new running back. It seems like something clicked and now he has a chance to be a star. Forsett is a perfect fit for the Ravens offense. Kenneth Dixon has wow factor written all over him, though he will miss a month of football. Finally, Buck Allen is full of potential Allen is probably the Ravens best receiving threat at the running back position.
