Pittsburgh Steelers 1-0

It takes more than an over-hyped NFC East team to bring down the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Redskins looked thoroughly dominated on both sides of the ball as the Steelers controlled the game from the opening kickoff. Washington managed to throw for 329 yards, but that was mostly in garbage time. The Steelers didn’t record a sack, but they only allowed 55 yards rushing on the night.

Kick Cousins continues to provide the Redskins with reason not to sign him to a new contract. Two more of those reasons went to Steelers linebackers James Harrison and Ryan Shazier. Cousins threw the ball 43 times last night as Washington played from behind all night.

Last season, a weak division propelled the Redskins to a division championship, but this team stinks like the rest of the NFC East. This year, Dallas drafted a real backup quarterback, and the Giants might actually play some defense this year. Of course, the Eagles are the NFC East version of the Browns.

In a rematch of the craziest playoff game of all time, Cincinnati comes to Pittsburgh. This game’s appeal should have ear marked it for a national game, but instead, it’s a 1PM start. This will be a fun game to watch as the implication in the division standings rear its head early.
