1. The Browns looked bad in their 29-10 loss to the Eagles. What was the biggest problem?

Everything was the problem, but it started with the offense. Robert Griffin III could not keep the offense on the field, leading to the Eagles having the ball early and often against a young and inexperienced Browns defense. The group is expected to be one of the worst in the NFL, so nearly 40 minutes of time on the field was a recipe for disaster.

The offense was also the victim of some predictable play-calling. An incompletion on first down led to an obvious run play on second down, followed by a third-and-long. The lack of talent doesn’t make it any easier for head coach Hue Jackson, but if this happens again it is going to be a season filled with more punts than points.

2. What is the one strength that this team can lean on against the Ravens?

The youth of this team should allow the Browns to bounce back and move on from the opening loss. These players are excited to be in the NFL and will not be beaten down by the years of ineptness seen by players like Joe Haden and Joe Thomas who have been on the team for so long.

Rookies like Carl Nassib and Emmanuel Ogbah will provide some pressure on the defensive front, while wide receiver Corey Coleman should be able to learn from his debut and be more prepared for this game in front of the home fans. This is also my optimistic view of a hopeless situation, so take it for what it’s worth.
