The Ravens 2014 Draft Results:

  • Round 1: C.J. Mosley, LB (Alabama) 17th Overall Pick
  • Round 2: Timmy Jernigan, DT (FSU) 48th Overall Pick
  • Round 3: Terrence Brooks, S (FSU) 79th Overall Pick
  • Round 3: Crockett Gillmore, TE (Colorado State) 90th Overall Pick
  • Round 4: Brent Urban, DT (Virginia) 104th Overall Pick
  • Round 4: Lorenzo Taliaferro, RB (Coastal Carolina) 138th Overall Pick
  • Round 5: John Urschel, OG (Penn State) 175th Overall Pick
  • Round 7: Keith Wenning, QB (Ball State) 194th Overall Pick
  • Round 7: Michael Campanaro, WR (Wake Forest) 218th Overall Pick

I don’t think we can call this a bad draft. C.J. Mosley has become a heck of a linebacker. Timmy Jernigan is starting to live up to his potential. Crockett is a great blocking tight end who needs to get more chances in the passing game. Brent Urban is finally healthy and is a handful on the defensive line. If it were not for Campanaro’s injuries, he could have been a star. Campanaro’s future still has some potential.

This is not one of Ozzie Newsome’s best draft hauls, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad. From 1996-2008 Newsome had built a reputation as a draft expert. Not every draft pick can be a Ray Lewis or a Terrell Suggs. The Ravens got two really good defensive players and a couple contributors. This is a good draft.
