3. Outside Linebacker

The two primary pass rushers for the Ravens are Elvis Dumervil and Terrell Suggs. While both of these players are proven in their respective careers, they are both 33 and 34 years old. To add to the age, both have suffered injuries in recent seasons. If the cornerback position was the #1 problem for the defense, the pass rush is close behind.

Suggs and Dumervil cannot continue to lead the team in sacks going forward. With Dumervil’s cap situation, he could be one of the first players to go once free agency begins. The Dumervil/Suggs duo has worked in the past, but it is time to start relying on younger talent. Players like Matt Judon and Za’Darius Smith are going to be expected to take on bigger roles in the defense this season. Both have played well when given the opportunity, but we still are not sure if they can be everyday starters. Even if they are, the team will still look to add more depth at the position.
