1. Cornerback
I am not sure if there is any argument that the cornerback position is the biggest need for the Ravens. It is like a broken record season after season. No matter how great a defense can be, if you cannot stop the pass, you are going to have problems. In today’s league throwing the football has taken the precedent over the ground game.
When healthy, Jimmy Smith is a #1 corner. The key here is when he is healthy. If he is not on the field the secondary looks lost. Shareece Wright had the opportunity to step up, but struggled. Tavon Young was able to gain valuable starting time, but his height does not allow him to matchup with players like A.J. Green and Dez Bryant.

It would be a surprise if the Ravens do not take a cornerback with their first pick. It is the deepest position in the 2017 draft by far. Many mock drafts link the Ravens with a player in the secondary. They have not taken a cornerback in the first round since Jimmy Smith in 2011 and it is time to add one again.
