Joe Schiller, Expert:

I know many people want to see changes on the offensive side of the ball, but I am going to look at it from the other side. I would like to see the Baltimore Raven’s defense finish games. It is not only a depth problem but also a strategic problem as well.

The Ravens were dominate on the defensive side of the ball for most of the season, but there were some major lapses. These lapses came at the end of games in the secondary. Once the Ravens got the lead, Dean Pees when into prevent mode.

I can say that there is nothing more frustrating than watching the prevent defense. It way like the defense wanted the other team to score. Time and time again, opposing offenses would drive down the field at the end of games and take the lead. This put unrealistic expectations on an inconsistent offense that had trouble scoring the ball. As a result, the Ravens suffered some heartbreaking losses in 2016.

There were six losses that were decided by one score or less. If the Ravens win half of those, they go from 8-8 to 11-5 and in the playoffs.
