NFL Draft: Baltimore Ravens Best First Round Picks
By Joe Schiller
3. Ed Reed
The Ravens have had their troubles in the secondary but it was different when Ed Reed was on the field. His official position was free safety, but he was much more than that. It seemed like he could play five different positions at a time. He is the older version of what a Jabril Peppers is today. Reed spent 11 seasons with the Ravens and his stats are astounding. I cannot fit all of them in a single post. He totaled 643 tackles, 64 interceptions, 11 forced fumbles, and 1,590 interception yards.
To say he was a ball hawk is a understatement. His ability to read a quarterback was what made him great. He would make a quarterback think they have an open receiver, only to fly in an intercept the ball. Once he got the ball, he was heading right for the endzone.
