What if: Kyle Juszczyk would have fell down before the end-zone?

Going along the theme of the Christmas Day game, Kyle Juszczyk’s touchdown put the Ravens up 27-24 over the Steelers. While it was great that the touchdown was scored, the game was far from over. There was still over a minute left to play. The Ravens defense had suffered this kind of defeat earlier in the season against the Raiders and they did not want to suffer the same fate. Unfortunately, we all know what happened next. Ben Roethlisberger and the Steelers went on a 10 play, 75 yard drive in just over a minute to score the game winning touchdown.

It is hard to put any blame on Juszczyk for scoring the touchdown. It is not like he ever thought about going down when he had a clear path to the end-zone. Even if he would have gone down, there is no guarantee that the Ravens would have scored a touchdown. The offense was a struggling point all season and it would not have been a surprise to see them kick a field goal. In the end, it is on the defense for not being able to make a stop, but you have to wonder how different the game would have been if Juszczyk would have fell down…
