Today we are going to take a look at five Baltimore Ravens who deserve a pat on the back. These Ravens have given the team everything. We start with Dennis Pitta, the ultimate example of perseverance.

The Baltimore Ravens have to give credit to Dennis Pitta for returning to the field after suffering two devastating hip injuries. Pitta could have called it a career, but despite the risks he made a comeback and played in all 16 games for Baltimore in 2016.

Pitta may not have been the same downfield threat that he once was, but he still finished the season with the third most reception yards on the team.  His connection with Flacco picked up right where it left off, as Pitta finished the season with 86 receptions, a team high.

Pitta should also receive a lot of credit for being the most reliable tight end on the Ravens’ roster, despite the depth at the position. Ben Watson, Crockett Gillmore, and Maxx Williams all finished the season on IR, and Darren Waller and Nick Boyle missed time due to suspensions. Before the season, Pitta being the most durable tight end was unheard of, but he proved us all wrong.

Even though he has regressed since his injuries, Pitta deserves a lot of credit for both his comeback and his impact on the Ravens’ offense. The unit would not have been the same without him.
