The Case For Brandon Marshall:

Brandon Marshall is one of my favorite players in the NFL. The things he can do are incredible. Marshall is “6’4” and he is a freak athlete. The way ge can move his body in mid-air to make circus catches is incredible. Marshall is a sure thing. He is 32 years old but you know what you’re getting from him. The Ravens have never been shy about signing veteran wide outs.

This is a point that Jeff Zerbiec makes in a Baltimore Sun article about the potential move:

"“At 6-foot-4 and 229 pounds, he’s a big, physical receiver who can work the middle of the field and other intermediate areas. His size and skill set would fit nicely with the Ravens’ current top receivers: Mike Wallace, Breshad Perriman and Chris Moore, who are speedy deep threats.”"

Zerbiec’s point could not be more spot on. Marshall isn’t just a great wide receiver but he is the wide receiver that the team needs. Without Marshall the Ravens would not have a go to guy. Flacco is a quarterback who likes to develop a connection with one receiver. When in doubt Flacco knows where to go, because he has his guy. First it was Derrick Mason. Then it was Anquan Boldin. Steve Smith Sr. was next. Marshall would be Joe’s security blanket moving forward and he would fill out the receiving corps.

Brandon Marshall Still Has It:

Marshall is coming off a down year. He had 59 receptions for 788 yards and three touchdowns. It was a down year for the entire Jets team though. Marshall was the only player they could lean on. In 2015 Marshall had 109 receptions for 1,502 yards and 14 touchdowns. That talent did not go away. Marshall would be a rare sighting in Baltimore, an elite receiver.

Joe Flacco does his best when he has a guy who can go up and get the football. Maybe the cure for his captain checkdown problem is a big, physical and commanding receiver on the edge.
