4. Kenneth Dixon’s Suspension Makes Danny Woodhead A Great Signing:
Without Danny Woodhead the Ravens would have been in a world of hurt. They lost Kyle Juszczyk to the San Francisco 49ers. Kenneth Dixon was suspended for four games. The Ravens just lost 67 receptions out of the backfield. Enter Danny Woodhead, a running back who has had two seasons with over 70 receptions. When Woodhead was signed it was exciting. When Dixon’s suspension was announced, it went from exciting to absolutely necessary.

Woodhead is one of those play-makers that defies the logic of the NFL. The NFL is all about bigger and faster players. I’m 5’8″ and 230 pounds and I’m writing about a 5’8″ 200 pound play-maker in the NFL. First of all, life is not fair. Secondly, Woodhead is incredibly easy to root for. Woodhead can come in on day one and be one of the Ravens x-factors.
When Dixon comes back from his suspension this could be an incredible duo. The Ravens could still add to the running back position. There are 1,000 tight ends (hyperbolically speaking), Ozzie Newsome obviously loves stocking up on positions. This was a good move. Now the Ravens can add to the backfield if they want to but are not forced to.
