NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that Dennis Pitta has agreed to a restructured contract. The Baltimore Ravens needed this to happen. Here are three big things to think about, with Pitta coming back:

1. The Ravens Need Pitta:

The Baltimore Ravens were put into a bit of a pickle. Releasing Pitta would have put the Ravens offense in a world of hurt. Pitta is one of the only proven receivers left on the roster. The problem is that Pitta’s cap number was way too high. If you were paying attention, you knew something had to have with Pitta. At the end of the day, the Ravens made the right move.

The Ravens brought back Mike Wallace and Pitta, moves that have come in back to back days. The Ravens offense has a lot of needs. With Rick Wagners departure makes the offensive line something that the Ravens have to address. Wallace and Perriman are the Ravens best two receivers, which is far from the best combination in the NFL. The Ravens have a lot of tight ends however, none of them are more proven as Pitta. Pitta had 86 receptions after coming back from consecutive hip injuries. Pitta was a Super Bowl hero when the Ravens won it all in New Orleans. The Ravens absolutely need number 88 back in Baltimore.
