3. Solomon Thomas, DE/OLB Stanford:

Solomon Thomas can play defensive end in the 4-3 or the 3-4 and he can play outside linebacker in the 3-4 too. That kind of versatility is why he is going to be a first round pick, he can  be a fit on any team. I compare Thomas to a leaner and more athletic Courtney Upshaw. Thomas will give you more pass rush than Upshaw, but he is the best run stuffing edge player the Ravens could get.

Thomas could fill the role that Upshaw and Jarrett Johnson have done so successfully for the Ravens. He would set the edge and be a critical part of the run defense. He’ll have some fun in the pass rushing game. Here is a Draft Breakdown YouTube video from Matheus Milanez. Watch how Thomas impacts in both run and pass defense and how he has a great set of moves.

The bottom line for me, is that Thomas has the size, athletic ability and versatility to make the Ravens better. His upside is as a great pass rusher that can stuff the run. The important thing is that right away, the Ravens would get an addition to their run defense.
