16. player. 26. . Outside Linebacker. Tennessee . Derek Barnett

I have gone back and fourth with this first round pick. There are many ways that the Ravens can go but I truly believe the best route is pass rusher. The player that I think is going to fall to #16 will be Derek Barnett. I featured Barnett in my mock draft 2.0 before going to John Ross the next two times. Barnett is a solid pick here. He is projected as an early to mid first round pick and so it makes complete sense, especially if quarterbacks are taken early.

After posting a slower forty time at the combine at 4.88, Barnett ran a 4.90 in his pro day, but had issues with a hamstring. I still do not think that his time is a big issue. What he lacks in forty speed, he has in lateral quickness and agility. He has a huge frame and knows how to get to the quarterback. Putting him in the Raven’s 3-4 defense gives him the ability to line up on the edge as a pass rusher as well as play on the outside at linebacker.
