Nick Mangold

Ever since Nick Mangold was released, he has made sense for the Ravens. After trading Jeremy Zuttah, John Urschel is the best option left on the roster. Adding Mangold would be a short term solution, but the Ravens are trying to win now. They could draft a center and have him sit behind Mangold for a year or two. It would make sense and allow Joe Flacco to have an experienced center under the helm. When healthy, Mangold is a very good offensive lineman. The problem is that his age is catching up to him and his reliability is in question.

Last week, Mangold visited with the Ravens, but left the facility without signing a deal. Even though the two sides did not reach a deal, it doesn’t mean he is gone. He is a 33 year old lineman who has dealt with some injuries in recent years. The Ravens most likely wanted to bring him in to check out his health before thinking about striking a deal. If he still has some left in the tank and is in good health, it would not surprised me to see the Ravens pull he trigger and sign him.
