I take a look at the best case scenario for the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL Draft

Less than two weeks remain for before the 2017 NFL Draft. The Baltimore Ravens front office need to hit on early round picks this year to help the franchise rebound following a pair of down years. Despite taking some heat for recent draft classes, General Manager Ozzie Newsome continued putting together quality draft picks. Granted, the past few years have been devoid of Ray Lewis or Ed Reed level game changers, but there were some quality players taken in every draft.

Missing the playoffs in three of the last four seasons led to the murmuring of criticism for Newsome and Head Coach John Harbaugh. The pair enter their 10th season together this year, and it feels like a make or break situation whether the feeling is warranted or not. Putting together a solid draft class begins a playoff push in April that hopefully won’t end until February.

The idea of a Super Bowl push might be a bit premature, but if Ozzie and company put together a good group of players in the first two days, the young talent will lift the Baltimore Ravens off their 8-8 hump from last year. With an extra pick in the third round, the Ravens get four picks in the first three rounds. The latest of those picks falls at pick number 78 overall. This a good chance to land some quality players especially given the depth of this year’s draft.

Here’s what Eric DeCosta said about the number of draftable prospects this year during the Baltimore Ravens’ Pre-Draft Press Conference.

"“We’ve got about 175 guys, which is a good number. I think the defensive board has probably more prospects. There are some good offensive players, but I think in terms of just sheer volume, the defensive board would be more attractive to most people. It is a good draft.”"

Let’s take a look at the Baltimore Ravens best case scenario for their first four picks of the 2017 NFL Draft.
