The Ravens may have tight ends, but if O.J. Howard falls to 16, he would be hard to ignore:
First of all, O.J. Howard will most likely be drafted before the Ravens are on the clock. He is a top 10 talent and the most exciting tight end prospect. Secondly, the Ravens are fully stocked at the tight end position. The thought of drafting Howard however, is appealing.
The purple and black have tight ends, but none of them have a ton of star power. Ben Watson’s future with the team is up in the air. Dennis Pitta is serviceable and reliable, but is not a game changer.
Maxx Williams looks like a bust. Crockett Gillmore is hurt almost as much as Michael Campanaro; and Nick Boyle could be the replacement to Kyle Juszczyk at the fullback/H-back spot. The Ravens have no need at tight end, unless the proposed addition is a game changer.
Must Read: 10 NFL Draft Prospects That Are A Sure Thing
Howard is 6’6″ and weighs 250 pounds. He can run like a wide receiver and he can jump over defenders. At the NFL Scouting Combine he had a 4.51 second 40 yard dash and a 30 inch vertical jump. He clearly has the measurables to be a Rob Gronkowski or an Antonio Gates.
If Howard falls to 16, he would most likely be the best player the Ravens could take. I have Howard as the ninth best player in the draft. Frankly, at 16 he would be a steal.
I have been begging Newsome for a wide receiver. Ultimately, Joe Flacco just needs some weapons. Howard would be about the biggest target you could get him.

The Ravens don’t need a tight end. The point is however, that Howard is a superstar prospect. It may be out of the realm of possibilities for Howard to fall for the Ravens, but if he does he would be hard to pass up.
