Could the Baltimore Ravens surprise us and go with Forrest Lamp at the #16 pick in the NFL Draft?

We are two days away from the NFL Draft and Ravens fans are wondering where they will go in the first round. There are plenty of things flying around on the internet and social media.

Rumors are rumors, but this sure is an interesting one. Forrest Lamp’s agent Erik Burkhardt quoted a tweet about a 14-year-old Ravens fan who will be announcing the team’s first pick thanks to Make-A-Wish foundation. Here is what Burkhardt said:

Would be hard to think he would be talking about anyone other than his client. Looking at his Twitter, the two seem to be pretty close

The offensive line class does not seem to be great this year, but Forrest Lamp seems to be a hidden gem. Other than Cam Robinson and Ryan Ramczyk, Lamp is right up there on the board. He is out of a smaller school, but that is not affecting his stock. He is projected from anywhere in the late first round to early second. Could the Ravens surprise us and take him at #16? The Ravens do not shy away from players because they went to smaller schools.

It would be a bit of a surprise, but it wouldn’t completely shock me. There haven’t been any reports of Lamp visiting the Ravens, but it could be a smokescreen by Ozzie trying to make it seem like they aren’t interested in him. The Ravens have plenty of needs on the offensive line. Lamp has the ability to play at guard or center. He could be the immediate replacement to Jeremy Zuttah at center. It could allow John Urschel to move to guard and Alex Lewis to tackle. Yes there are plenty of other needs, but Ozzie may want to play it safe in the first round. With a deep draft, anything is possible in the first round for the Ravens.
