Carl Lawson, EDGE, Auburn

Tyus Bowser is more of a versatile linebacker who is a project, but Lawson is an immediate impact pass rusher. He would really help fill the void of Elvis Dumervil on 3rd downs and he’ll be an asset against the run straight away.

He has good hands as a pass rusher and he keeps them active. They are also effective against the run He has a strong punch and good extension to shed tight ends and lineman to shift through tackles.

His power and aggressiveness are NFL ready. He gets after the lineman and he beats him up. He has a good get off and gets on top of the tackle quickly. Lawson does a good job of swatting and battling with his hands and gets to the QB in a hurry. Once he gets the QB in his sights he gets to flattens to him well.

He has to broaden his pass rush moves and his flexibility isn’t great, but he has a lot of the tools to be a solid NFL starter in the Ravens scheme.
