Zach Terrell, QB, Western Michigan

A lot of Ravens wanted Western Michigan wide receiver Corey Davis, but he was off the board early in the draft. However, the man who threw him the ball in college is getting a shot with the Ravens. Terrell’s back-up during his time at Western Michigan? Joe Flacco’s brother. Seems like Ravens might have had an insider scoop on this one.

Obviously Flacco is the starter, but it is never too early to start thinking about the future. Ryan Mallett is the clear back-up, but he is not the future and is only on a one year contract. The Ravens have tried their luck with some young quarterbacks in the past but they haven’t found one they liked. Sooner or later, there is going to be a different quarterback starting under center. During his senior year, Terrell had a fantastic season. He threw 33 touchdowns to only four interceptions and racked up over 3500 yards. Some may question the opponents he played since Western Michigan is the MAC. Joe Flacco played his college ball a FCS school in Delaware, so take that how it is.
