Former Baltimore Ravens running back Justin Forsett has announced his retirement

At this point in the offseason, when veteran free agents do not find places to play, they may call it quits to their career. This happened today with a former Ravens running back. Justin Forsett announced on Twitter that he will be retiring from the NFL after nine seasons.

Forsett bounced around between the Seahawks, Colts, Texans and Jaguars before signing a one year deal with the Ravens in 2014. Under offensive coordinator Gary Kubiak, Forsett had a breakout year. He finished the season with a career best 1,266 rushing yards and totaled eight touchdowns.

His play was good enough to earn him a three year extension with the Ravens. Unfortunately, he did not last all of those three years. Forsett broke his arm in the middle of the 2015 season. After drafting running back Kenneth Dixon and signing Terrance West in the offseason, it seemed the Ravens were headed in a different direction. The two sides mutually parted ways after the week four game against the Raiders. Forsett then spent time with the Lions and then reconnected with Kubiak in Denver to finish out the season.

Forsett was a fantastic player and teammate in Baltimore and had high praise from a lot of people when he announced his retirement today. He is the example of a player who has done all the right things for his career. I do not think I have heard a player say something bad about Forsett. He is just overall a really good guy. Us here at Ebony Bird and all Ravens fans wish him a happy retirement and a good luck to his future endeavors.
