The Baltimore Ravens start rookie mini-camp much sooner than you may think

Yesterday, the NFL officially announced the dates for both rookie and mandatory mini-camps. The rookie mini-camp will involve all of the Ravens draft picks as well as the undrafted free agents that have been signed or given tryouts.

Rookie mini-camp officially begins tomorrow May 5th and will go through Saturday May 7th. We will finally get to take a look at the new draft picks. The likes of Marlon Humphrey, Tyus Bowser and Tim Williams will finally get to step on the field as a member of the Ravens. The rest of the roster will take part in mandatory mini-camp from June 13-15. This is the final practices and workouts the team will have before training camp officially starts.

As it stands right now, there are currently voluntary offseason programs that are going on. We have seen the likes of Joe Flacco and other veterans making their way back to the facility to get into shape for the upcoming season.

It’s nice to see football activities start to pick up again. After a dissapointing season for the Ravens last year, they will look to turn it around in 2017.  We as fans are excited when our teams select players, but we want to see them on the field. The Ravens rookies will get the chance to do that this weekend. If any undrafted rookies stand out and look good, we will hear about it. I have a feeling that some could very well make the Ravens 53-man roster once the season starts.

A reminder to fans, because of construction being done to the facility in Owings Mills, the Ravens will not open their camp to fans. There will be scheduled open practices that will take place at M&T Bank stadium.
