It’s looking like Baltimore Ravens are going to be signing to one of the tryout players from last weekend.

Last weekend, the Baltimore Ravens held their rookie mini-camp. It allowed for the seven draft picks to make their way into the facility and get settled. They also get time to take the field as a Raven for the first time in their careers. This was not the only thing going on at mini-camp.

Along with the drafted rookies, the Ravens brought in a number of other players. These were undrafted free agents as well as players who got a tryout. According to Ravens beat reporter Jeff Zrebiec, it looks as if the Ravens will be signing one of those tryout guys. Zrebiec tweeted that New Hampshire safety Casey De’Andrade will be getting a deal from the Ravens.

This is the first tryout signing that we have heard out of Ravens camp. It’s not very often that you see guys who tryout get signed by teams. Yesterday they released two undrafted free agents in quarterback Zach Terrell and defensive end Omarius Bryant.

Looking at his statistics, De’Andrade had a very impressive career at New Hampshire. He finished his career with 285 total tackles and 62 pass breakups. That amount of pass breakups is very impressive. Even while playing at the FCS level, the Ravens think that De’Andrade could make an impact on the team.

With the secondary pretty loaded, it doesn’t look like De’Andrade will see much playing time at safety if he makes the 53-man roster. Lardarius Webb will be the next man up if any injuries occur. If anything, De’Andrade could find his way on to special teams. I look at him and sixth round pick Chuck Clark as candidates to do this.
