Second year cornerback Tavon Young has suffered a torn ACL

Some bad news coming out of Ravens camp today. Second year cornerback Tavon Young has suffered a torn ACL.

Injuries in the offseason are not something you ever want to see. The Baltimore Ravens secondary has suffered a number of injuries in recent years and the bad luck has continued.

It was reported that the knee injury had happened earlier today at OTAs and the Ravens were looking into the severity.

The team later released an official statement confirming that Young tore his ACL.

This is a major loss for the Ravens defense. Young had a very impressive rookie season and was slated to have a major role in the secondary this season. He now likely misses the entire season and is left rehabbing for 2018.

Luckily, the Ravens beefed up the secondary this offseason. They added veteran Brandon Carr in free agency and Marlon Humphrey in the draft.  Lardarius Webb was cut, but came back on a cheaper contract. Maurice Canady and Kyle Arrington could also compete for playing time. Right now, it’s a next man up mentality for the secondary.

We wish Tavon Young a healthy recovery and cannot wait to see him back on the field.
