Why Williams has his work cut out for him:

Watson has the most experience. If he is healthy, you have to think he makes the team and he makes it better. The experienced veteran had just come off a career year with the New Orleans Saints.

The Ravens refused to put all their eggs in one basket at the tight end position. There will be an open competition for the top spot. It’s too early to count anybody out, but Williams isn’t the guy I would peg as the leader of the bunch.

Williams has to make his mark as the match-up nightmare. This is where he has to beat out Darren Waller. Waller is 6’6″ and he is a converted receiver. The Ravens have put a lot of effort in developing Waller, a player they knew would be a project out of Georgia Tech. If Waller edges out Williams, he the former second round pick could find it hard to get playing time. It’s worth noting that Watson is a player who can stretch the field as well. If we’re being honest Watson is the best player the Ravens have at this position.
