Flacco Needs a go to guy over the middle of the field:

What the Ravens need is a guy Joe Flacco can throw the football to over the middle of the field. My bet is that Gillmore will become the next go to tight end for the Ravens. Gillmore battled injuries in 2016 and Pitta locked up the job. In 2015 he had pretty similar stats to Williams. The difference is that Gillmore seemed to do more with his chances. Williams had 32 reception for 268 yards and a touchdown. Gillmore had 33 receptions for 412 yards and four touchdowns.

Like Waller, Gillmore is 6’6″. He has a bigger frame than that of Williams. While Williams is supposed to be the explosive tight end down the field, Gillmore averages almost three yards more than Williams, per catch. What Gillmore gives you is the best of both worlds. He is explosive and he can be the go to guy over the middle.

Williams has potential. We’re talking about an open competition where there is a lot of doubt around each player. Williams, Watson and Gillmore all have injury concerns looming over them. Nick Boyle also plays a role in this equation but I foresee him being used as a fullback. The tight end position didn’t really get that much clearer with the loss of Pitta.
