In the wake of Tavon Young’s torn ACL, the Baltimore Ravens have added more depth at cornerback.
Tavon Young’s injury has made the Baltimore Ravens add more depth to the cornerback position. Today they signed Brandon Boykin and Al-Hajj Shabazz and also terminated the contract of Kyle Arrington.
Beat reporter Jeff Zrebiec reported the news:

And they've announced signing of both Brandon Boykin and CB Al-Hajj Shabazz

Boykin spent the first three seasons of his career with the Eagles before being traded to the Steelers. Since then, he’s bounced around was most recently on the Bears practice squad. He is a slot corner like Young who will get a chance to compete in camp.
Shabazz is a former undrafted rookie who’s also bounced around to different teams since coming in the league. He was released by the Steelers early May and finds himself on the Ravens. At 6-2, he’s got a big frame for cornerback and the Ravens could use that.
Arrington was placed on injured reserve before last season with concussion issues. This move was expected, it was just a matter of when he was able to take his physical.
Unlike the start of the season, the Ravens don’t need to trim their roster down to 53 players right now. They have room for up to 90. There’s no guarantee that Boykin or Shabazz will even make the roster, but it’s more depth for the Ravens to experiment with. It’s always a possibility that they get signed to the practice squad and get called up during the season if injuries happen.
Next: Maxx Williams likely not the answer to replacing Dennis Pitta
These may not be the most lavish signings, but it never hurts to have depth, especially at a position that’s been a weak spot for the Ravens in recent years.
