Free agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin has left the Baltimore Ravens facility without signing a deal

The pursuit for a wide receiver has picked up in the last couple days for the Baltimore Ravens. Free agent wide receiver Jeremy Maclin took a visit to the Ravens facility last night into today. The visit included watching the NBA Finals with Eric Weddle and others Ravens, as well as meeting up with Steve Smith.

We have not heard much since, but now there is finally some news.

According to Jeff Zrebiec, coach John Harbaugh said the meetings with Maclin went well, but the two sides were not able to agree on a deal.

Harbaugh also said that Maclin wants to take some time before making a decision.

You can really interpret this in a bunch of different ways.

It really does hurt that the Ravens were not able to secure a deal, but not all is lost. Maclin did the same with the Buffalo Bills the day before. It seems like he is testing the waters to see what the available options are. There is still a chance that he could ultimately sign with the Ravens.

There’s no doubt that adding Maclin significantly improves the Ravens offense. They need another threat in the passing game to help Joe Flacco.

If the move does not ultimately work out, there are still other options. Eric Decker has been linked to the Ravens in a possible trade. Do not count out Ozzie Newsome pulling the trigger on this kind of deal if it’s in the best interest for the Ravens.
