Lawrence Guy

It won’t make a ton of headlines, but the Ravens lost a quality depth player in defensive end Lawrence Guy. Guy bounced around before finding a home with the Ravens in 2014. He has been a rotation player at defensive end the last two seasons and performed very well. The Patriots rewarded him this offseason with a 4-year, $13.4 million contract which was well deserved.

Guy was one of only three defensive ends in a 3-4 defense to not miss a tackle last season. That is pretty ridiculous if you think about it. It’s a very underrated stat that goes seemingly goes unnoticed to a lot of people.

Guy isn’t going to wow you with his sacks or big plays, but his consistency is what makes him one of the most solid defensive ends in the league.

The Ravens seemingly drafted his replacement in Chris Wormley, but it’s too early to tell how that will work out. What we do know is the defense lost out on a great football player in Guy
