How did the top Ravens grade out from Pro Football Focus

Pro Football Focus is one of the top sites that grades and ranks NFL players based on their statistics throughout the season. They grade players for each game, as well as for the whole season. This morning, PFF released the top three graded players for the Baltimore Ravens in 2016.

An 8-8 season and missing out on the playoffs was not ideal for the Ravens. The play wasn’t there from the team as a whole, but there were some great individual performances.

Safety Eric Weddle headlined the list for the Ravens, along with offensive guard Marshal Yanda and newly acquired safety Tony Jefferson.

Weddle and Yanda ranked 1st in their respective positions, while Jefferson was not far behind at 5th for safeties. This does not come as much of a surprise. After coming over from the Chargers, Weddle had a fantastic first season with the Ravens. He finished the season putting up some of the best numbers in his career. Now he teams up with Tony Jefferson and the two will be a very dangerous duo in the Ravens secondary.

Marshal Yanda has been the best guard in the NFL in recent years. PFF has ranked him as the #1 guard in the past three seasons. That’s what happens when you’ve only allowed 5 sacks since 2012.

Tony Jefferson was undrafted, but came on to the scene with the Cardinals. He was a highly sought after free agent this offseason and the Ravens were able to land him. It is a huge addition to defense as they look to get even better from last season.
