Joe Flacco finds his 2012 playoff form

At this point everyone knows about Joe Flacco’s 2012 playoff run, mainly because it is just about the only thing propping up his argument for ‘Elite’ status. Thus, it is mentioned almost every time the Ravens offense is talked about. Since that historic run Flacco has failed to reach the same level and he’s been inconsistent in that time too.

Though the offense doesn’t have all of the same tools as it did then, it’s not far off and could be more explosive. Especially if the previous two scenarios even partially play out. If Maxx Williams finds his potential he’ll absolutely be able to fill Pitta’s shoes, Danny Woodhead more than replicates Ray Rice’s production as a receiver out of the backfield. Maclin, Wallace and hopefully an improved Perriman are a pretty good recreation of Boldin, Smith and Jones from 2012.

Clearly then, given the scheme and play-calling improve, it’s not so far-fetched an idea that Flacco could find that 2012 playoff form. If he can it wouldn’t be unreasonable to see the Ravens offense keep up with the Bengals and Steelers in the division.
