The Ravens live up to the hype

This may seem like a given, but that is why I included it. Even if the above scenarios don’t play out, the Ravens are still mentioned as a dark-horse contender in the AFC. I think the ultimate best case scenario for the Ravens is to live up to those expectations and return to the upper echelon of AFC teams, regardless of how that happens.

Apart from the fact that success of any kind is great, the Ravens need to improve to save one of the better coaching staffs and front offices in the NFL. Another poor season and John Harbaugh’s, Dean Pees’ and maybe even Ozzie Newsome’s roles could be evaluated. What’s more, front office personnel like Eric DeCosta and Joe Hortiz could finally leave the team for positions with other teams.

These are all things that the Ravens cannot let happen. I firmly believe the coaching staff and front office staff the Ravens currently have are integral to the team’s success, and the Ravens cannot afford to plunge themselves into the uncertainty of a coaching search and GM search. It is crucial the Ravens succeed.
