The Baltimore Ravens are a team with a lot to prove this season.

The Baltimore Ravens have a younger team than we’re used to seeing. Baltimore typically has been a team with chiseled veterans. One of the reasons the Ravens have been so successful in the Harbaugh era is that they’ve had players who already knew how to win. When you look at the Ravens roster in 2017, you have veteran leadership. You have Jeremy Maclin, Mike Wallace and Marshall Yanda on the offense. You have Terrell Suggs and Eric Weddle leading the way on the defense. However the Ravens have simply never had this much young talent.

The Ravens have entire position groups of unproven talent. They have players that have a bunch of buds in their garden rather than blooming flowers. Ozzie Newsome has always been a respectable drafter, but never before has his draft class been so integral into the blueprint of the team. Tim Williams, Tyus Bowser, Chris Wormley and even Marlon Humphrey all figure to play integral roles in their rookie seasons. It wouldn’t be shocking to see Nico Siragusa making an impact this year either.

Let’s take a look at the position groups that have players with something to prove. Let’s take a look at the players that could shock the NFL and make the Ravens contenders. These are the players that could make this a year for postseason football, rather than another frustrating rebuilding year.
