The Baltimore Ravens have made another move at quarterback, signing free agent quarterback Josh Woodrum and waiving David Olson
While the Baltimore Ravens are still very interested in signing Colin Kaepernick, they aren’t ready to make a move just yet.
Instead, the team announced this morning that they are signing quarterback Josh Woodrum. To make room for him the Ravens are waiving David Olson, who they signed just 3 days ago.
We have waived QB David Olson and signed QB Josh Woodrum.

Woodrum played college ball at Liberty, where he had an impressive career. He finished as the program’s all-time leading passer with 10,266 and second with 59 touchdowns. This was good enough to make him one of the only FCS players to be invited to the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in 2016.
Projected as a possible late round pick, Woodrum went undrafted in the 2016 and eventually signed with the New York Giants. He was cut shortly after rookie minicamp and has since played for 3 different teams.
Woodrum will come in as another camp arm for the Ravens. Like Olson, he’ll be a long shot to make the 53-man roster this season, but he’s got a chance to make the practice squad. At the very least he brings more talent to the table.
The bottom line
Once again, this move shouldn’t affect the Ravens interest in Kaepernick. People are crazy to think that Woodrum is a replacement for Kaepernick. I can tell you that you are dead wrong if you think that.
The Ravens have said they’ve had direct discussions with Kaepernick and a deal looks possible. The team is still reportedly weighing their options on a potential signing. There are still some kinks to figure out before a move can be made. One thing is for sure, this media circus certainly will not go away. It’s a topic that every news and media outlet seem to want to report on.
Next: Baltimore Ravens hope to win with unproven talent
For now, we can take a deep breath and relax. Joe Flacco is still out with a back injury but will hopefully be returning sometime next week.
