The Baltimore Ravens continue to rack up injuries this offseason. The latest is rookie offensive lineman Nico Siragusa.

The Baltimore Ravens can’t seem to go a day without suffering a major injury.

Yesterday was a day off, but the injuries continued when the team returned for practice today. Rookie offensive lineman Nico Siragusa is the latest to get injured.

Siragusa was carted off the field after suffering a knee injury in practice. A MRI confirmed later confirmed the bad news.

As reported by Ian Rapoport, Siragusa tore is ACL, MCL, and PCL. He’ll miss the entire season and likely more time.

The 4th round pick had high hopes this season and was working with the 1st team offense when the injury occurred. There were expectations what he would see starting game time this season. Now those hopes are put on the back burner.

Siragusa did tweet not too long after learning the news. It seems the comeback has already started.

An offensive line that struggled with depth last season is put in a similar situation before the start of the season. The Ravens still have solid starters in Marshal Yanda, Ronnie Stanley and Alex Lewis, but losing Siragusa hurts. At this point you have to think Ozzie Newsome is one the phone looking to bring in a free agent lineman.

It may very well be Nick Mangold time in Baltimore.

To make matters even worse, this is not even the only injury news the Ravens learned today.

More injury news

On top of the Siragusa injury, John Harbaugh confirmed that tight Crockett Gilmore will miss the entire season after undergoing MCL surgery. Gilmore has been plagued with injuries since being drafted in 2014. With his contract up after this season, it most likely means the end for him in Baltimore.

It was also reported that undrafted rookie Quincy Adeboyejo was carted off the field and that Breshad Perriman was sidelined with hamstring tightness. There’s been no update on Adeboyejo but Harbaugh said that Perriman’s injury doesn’t seem to be serious.

The bottom line

With Siragusa out for the season, the Ravens have now lost 7 players since June 1st. It sounds like the 2015 season all over again. But the crazy part is that the regular season hasn’t even started yet. Heck, we haven’t even started the preseason.

At some point it makes you wonder if these injuries go past bad luck. Many are starting to question the type of regime the Ravens are running at practice. It may seem unfair, but at this point questions have to start being asked.

Let’s hope that the Ravens are able to avoid more injuries as the week goes on. From what’s happened, you can’t feel too confident right now.
