2. Ryan Jensen:

The center position is Ryan Jensen’s to lose. He was listed as the starter on the Ravens first depth chart. Jensen is the most experienced player the Ravens can put there. His competition is Matt Skura and the recently signed Derrick Nelson. Jensen has to prove that he is far and away the best option for the purple and black. A couple of miscues with good performances by the competition could be costly for Jensen.

The Ravens offensive line is their biggest concern and it isn’t even close. Austin Howard was a huge signing for Ozzie Newsome, but he still hasn’t practiced yet. The right tackle situation is just as cloudy as it was before. Baltimore cannot afford the center position being equally troubling.

Jensen can lock up a job in the preseason. He can also lose it. The offensive line will be the most scrutinized part of the team in exhibition games. The position battle at center is an intriguing one. It’s one area on the depth chart that isn’t filled yet. Jensen will get the first team reps against Washington, who has a tough defensive front. Miami and Buffalo also have a good defensive line. It will be a good test for Jensen.
