Richard Bradshaw- Chris Wormley

After being drafted in the third round, Wormley has high expectations to come in and produce as a rookie. The former Michigan Wolverine was touted by many as one of the 50 best prospects in the 2017 draft. His combination of size (6’5″ 298 lbs.) and blunt power as a 3-tech defensive tackle have many thinking he could make an immediate impact as a rotation player on a somewhat crowded Ravens’ defensive line.

What will be very telling for Wormley will be how versatile he can be. As big as he is, the 3-tech spot is currently occupied by Brandon Williams and he isn’t big enough to play nose tackle (currently occupied by up-in-coming star Michael Pierce). That leaves the 5-tech defensive end spot, which is currently held by Brent Urban. Wormley has the higher ceiling between the two, and showed in college the ability to play closer to an edge rushing role rather than between the tackles.

If Wormley can beat up lesser competition in his back-up role, the Ravens will have a hard time justifying a small role for Wormley. His talent level suggests he could be a long-term starter and even a player who completes a massive Ravens’ defensive line.
