The Baltimore Ravens have to figure out the pecking order at the tight end position:

The Baltimore Ravens have always loved going to the tight end for big plays. First their was Shannon Sharpe. Then came Todd Heap and finally Dennis Pitta. The Ravens are now looking for the next player to join that list of memorable tight ends. Ozzie Newsome has spent a good bit of resources stacking the tight end group. Despite losing Crockett Gillmore and Dennis Pitta due to injury and the suspended Darren Waller, the Ravens still have a clump of tight ends to sift through.

The Ravens still have six players at the tight end position. It will be interesting to see how many tight ends the Ravens keep. The battle is especially interesting because the position group is mostly unproven. Ben Watson is the one proven player the Ravens have, but the 36 year old still has to earn the top spot.

The only thing we know for sure, is that the position will play out differently than we thought it would before OTA’s. Before Pitta went down, the Ravens were confident that he would continue to be an important part of the offense. The remaining preseason games could give the Ravens some good looks at this roster battle:
