Players who need to prove themselves:

Here is a look at the next two players vying for a spot on the team and a large role in the tight end rotation. The one thing the Ravens don’t lack at tight end is size. Boyle is a sturdy 6-4. Watson is 6’3″. The next two players on the roster are 6’4″ and 6’6″ respectively. Maxx Williams and Larry Donnell have to show that they can be considered as top options this preseason.

3. team. 26. The 2015 NFL Draft wasn’t Ozzie Newsome’s best draft. For the sake of somewhat salvaging the draft class, Maxx Williams needs to be successful. Williams played college football at Boston College, where he made a habit of the tough catch, high in the air. So far, Williams hasn’t had a ton of success in the NFL. Williams is coming off a pretty brutal injury. Right now he’s third on the Ravens tight ends power rankings. If there is any player that can climb up the list it’s Williams. He is an athletic player with the size and strength you look for in a tight end. The Ravens will want their second round pick to be successful but he has a lot to prove.. . . Maxx Williams

. . Larry Donnell. 4. team. 26. I always liked Larry Donnell, and I don’t think he got a fair shake with the New York Giants. Donnell is the biggest tight end the Ravens have. He is a 6.’6″ tight end with decent speed and some pretty serious vertical ability. The thing working for Donnell is that he is a red zone threat. When the Ravens are trying to punch the ball in the end zone, Flacco may want to throw it up to Donnell for the score. The best season of his career was in 2014, when he had 63 receptions, 623 yards and six touchdowns. The Ravens may be the best team for him to try to get back to that level of production, because the Ravens emphasize the importance of the tight end.<br /> ‘
