Paying tribute to Ravens greats:

Here are a few names that don’t have much to do with the current Ravens team, but have a lot to do with the Ravens history. These three team names are on the sentimental side of things.

9. Heap of Pitta Pockets forever:

So I have a confession to make. I call pita pockets “Pitta” pockets to honor one of my favorite all-time Ravens Dennis Pitta? Hopefully, I’m not the only one who does this but either way, this is a fun play on words. What I really love about this fantasy football team name is that it combines two of the greatest Ravens tight ends. Not only am I paying homage to Dennis Pitta but to Todd Heap as well.

8. A Whole Lot of Ngata:

Haloti Ngata was one of the best defensive linemen of our generation. Now he is a Detroit Lion, but he will be remembered as a Raven. Ngata was drafted by the Ravens in 2006. He played in Baltimore until the end of the 2014 season. When you think of Ngata you think of the perfect combination of power, size and quickness for a defensive lineman. Ngata was a space eater who could rush the passer. The 345 pound defender is more graceful than he looks as he has picked off five passes in his career. Paying tribute to Ngata is always in good Ravens fashion.

7. The 19-52 Baltimore Express:

This is a subtle way to pay tribute to Johnny Unitas and the Baltimore Colts, while tying it to the days of Ray Lewis and the Ravens. This fantasy football name is perfect for the older generations of fans that remember the days when Colts football was everything to them. It ties two generations of Baltimore football together. It’s also a fantastic way to say that you’re a Baltimore football fan. With this name you’re saying that you respect the tradition that Johnny Unitas, Raymond Berry, Lenny Moore, Gino Marchetti, Art Donovan and all the other Colts started, while showing love for your current Ravens as well.
