4. Lorenzo Talialferro:

The fullback position isn’t a strong suit for the Baltimore Ravens. It is starting to look more and more like a position that will be handled by Patrick Ricard and a tight end to be named later. Ricky Ortiz hasn’t played that well either, but he is an undrafted free agent. Taliaferro is the most expendable option the Ravens have at the fullback position. It was pretty telling in the third game, when Taliaferro never really got a crack at making an impact as a fullback.

The Ravens drafted Taliaferro in the fourth round a a few years back. Injuries have been the main deterrent for him at the running back position. With Kyle Juszczyk wearing a 49ers uniform, this was a golden chance for Taliaferro. He needed to prove that he could be a powerful lead blocker, that he could change his position successfully. Taliaferro hasn’t been especially convincing. He has gotten nine carries. He is averaging less than two yards per rush.

It’s just hard to imagine that Taliaferro will make that big of an impact on the team. Roster spots are precious and other players can handle the fullback role in spurts. The Ravens cannot waste a spot on Taliaferro.
