Here is a look at the AFC North standings heading into Week 2.
AFC North Standings
Ravens 1-0 Week 2: Vs. Browns
Steelers 1-0 Week 2: Vs. Vikings
Browns 0-1 Week 2: At Ravens
Bengals 0-1 Week 2: Vs. Texans
You wouldn’t have thought it, but the Steelers-Browns game was the closest matchup in the division this week. In a ugly 21-18 win, Ben Roethlisberger became the winningest quarterback in Cleveland Browns stadium since 1999. Le’Veon Bell saw the second lowest touches of his career and didn’t look anything like himself. But one bad performance from the Steelers doesn’t mean anything, they are still the favorites to win the division this season.
On the other hand, the Ravens dominated the Bengals. A stellar defensive performance gave the Ravens their first shutout since 2009. In today’s NFL, you rarely see that happen. The most impressive part, the Bengals have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL. They couldn’t get anything going from an offensive standpoint and Andy Dalton put together one of the worst games of his careers.
Heading into next week, the Browns and Ravens face off in another divisional matchup. The Steelers host the Vikings in an interesting matchup and the Bengals are on a short week as they host the Texans on Thursday Night Football. The Ravens have a chance to start off the season 2-0 for the second straight year and they have every opportunity to do it.
