As the Baltimore Ravens enter their Week 2 matchup against the Cleveland Browns, here are five players to watch.
The Baltimore Ravens enter Sunday with one of the most winnable games on their schedule this year. The Browns have seemed to give the Ravens fits in the past, but this is a game where the Ravens have to come away with a win.
Starting off the season 2-0 keeps the early momentum going. With Steelers in a tough matchup against the Vikings, the Ravens could very well sit atop of the AFC North with a win this week. But that doesn’t happen without the contributions from the players on the field.
Here are five players that you need to be watching for come Sunday’s matchup.
5. Alex Collins
Collins is the new addition to the Ravens 53-man roster. He was called up from the practice squad today to replace Danny Woodhead, who was placed on Injured Reserve earlier this week. Collins should be one of the 46 active on Sunday, so I’m looking to see how much of an impact he brings.
When Woodhead went out early in the first quarter against the Bengals, the Ravens called on Terrance West and Buck Allen to lead the way on the ground. The two split the carries pretty much 50/50 and combined for 151 yards on the ground. With those two as the one-two punch, I’m not sure how much we will see from Collins. He’s still a guy to watch, especially if West or Allen go down with injury or have any problems early on. I have no doubt the commitment to the ground game will be a focal point of the offense once again this week. We’ll just have to see if Collins is part of that equation.
