The Baltimore Ravens improve to 2-0 after defeating the Cleveland Browns in their home opener.
The defense once again dominated for a second week in a row. Is this the best defense in the NFL? I definitely think so.
Defense, defense, and more defense. That is all any Ravens fan will be talking about for the next week. Last week against division rival Cincinnati Bengals, the Ravens forced 5 turnovers and pitched a shutout. Though this week wasn’t a shutout, they still forced 5 turnovers. The Ravens only allowed 10 points against the Browns. The league should be put on notice about the Baltimore Ravens defense.
This defense is easily the best in the league as of week 2. 10 turnovers and only 10 points allowed in 2 games is astounding. Ozzie Newsome has truly outdone himself with this defensive roster. First there is dominant pass rusher and seemingly ageless wonder Terrell Suggs. Then there is the young captain in the middle C.J. Mosley and lock down cornerback Jimmy Smith.

Brandon Carr and Lardarius Webb are playing fantastically. To top it off the Ravens possibly the best safety duo in the league in Eric Weddle and Tony Jefferson. Not to mention the defensive line which has two behemoths clogging the middle in Brandon Williams and Michael Pierce. There are almost too many defensive studs to name.
We can always trust Ozzie Newsome.
Some fans were confused and even a little upset that Baltimore seemed to ignore the offense for most of the offseason, but now we all couldn’t be any happier with that decision. The offense is good enough, and the defense is absolutely suffocating. Ozzie went all in on the defensive side of the ball and it has paid dividends so far. It’s too early to say, but I think this will be one of the best defenses the Ravens have ever had. They just find ways to make plays at all the right moments.

Let’s all hope this dominance continues next week when the Ravens travel to London to face the Jacksonville Jaguars. Jaguars quarterback Blake Bortles is known for turning the ball over, so I expect this defense to feast once again. This is true Ravens football. It’s gritty, hard-nosed and ugly.
