Joe Flacco had a horrible game, but the entire Baltimore Ravens team did. How much blame can we pin on the franchise quarterback in the 44-7 loss?

Joe Flacco had an awful time at Wembley stadium. Flacco went 8-18 passing for 28 yards and two interceptions, which is beyond bad. The problem is that everything went wrong all across the board. 28 yards and two picks cannot be an acceptable performance but Flacco is not why they lost; he was part of the problem not the only problem.

Ronnie Stanley and Austin Howard got beaten like a drum in this game. The offensive line as a whole was hard to watch. The Ravens had a total of 134 rushing yards but most of that came in garbage time, when the Jaguars were letting the Ravens burn the clock.

The wide receivers made no impact in this game. Jeremy Maclin, Chris Matthews and Mike Wallace all had a single reception each. Nobody got open. Where the heck was Breshad Perriman? Flacco’s second interception was absolutely awful.

The passing game is a problem right now but Flacco has to get some help. The biggest reason for Flacco’s low stat performance is that the Ravens couldn’t stay on the field. Nobody made plays and Flacco was cold. How does rhythm get started when you can’t connect with the receivers?

Don’t forget the Ravens allowed the Jaguars to score 44 points. Blake Bortles threw four touchdown passes and the Jaguars had over 400 yards of total offense. What did the Ravens do right in this game? That’s a serious question, what did they do right? The Ravens lost as a team today.

The Bottom Line:

I am not defending Flacco. He played awful football. Flacco has to play better. I just don’t know what you expect from a quarterback when the entire team plays that badly. In most games, you can point to a player or two that decided the outcome. Today, the blame game could go on forever.

Flacco deserves criticism. You simply can’t blame him exclusively. The Ravens got beaten and battered in every single possible way. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. This was a bad effort all around. Flacco should get criticism, however the blame goes to the entire team.
