The Baltimore Ravens got beaten badly in London. The final score was 44-7. Here are 3 big things to think about:

When the Baltimore Ravens fanbase flocked to London, I don’t think they could have expected a 44-7 drubbing. The Baltimore Ravens fell out of the ranks of the unbeaten teams with their poor performance. The only positive for the Ravens is that every team in the AFC North lost yesterday including the Pittsburgh Steelers.

1. The Ravens beat themselves:

The Baltimore Ravens fell into a hole early in the game. A rough start rolled into a bad opening quarter. The bad opening quarter turned into a 23-0 first half for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The opening of the third quarter was very important. 23-0 was a deficit that made a comeback possible. Would it have been easy? No. Have we seen similar comebacks in Ravens history? Yes. What the Ravens needed to do was to come out of the second half with some determination and really focused play. That didn’t happen.

John Harbaugh’s team looked like they were sleep walking on the football field. There is no way around it. Normally, I give Joe Flacco a pass for his dull persona because it’s just who he is and you know he cares. That being said, it’s never good when the entire team looks that lethargic. The purple and black seemed to be thinking about their upcoming showdown with the Steelers before this game even got underway.

The Ravens took the built in excuse:

The Ravens fell into a trap. They allowed traveling to London to be a built in excuse for them. They clearly looked past the Jaguars, a team that clearly has some things figured out. Jacksonville played an incredible game. They beat the Ravens in every possible way.

It’s not taking credit away from the Jaguars to say that the Ravens helped them. The Jaguars clearly got some help from the Ravens errors. The Ravens were penalized 10 times. Terrance West fumbled, pretty much being in the open field. Flacco was a complete mess in this game. In a game where he only threw it for 28 yards (how is that even possible) he turned the ball over twice. The Ravens gave a tutorial on how not to play NFL football.
