Ahead of the most important game of the season, here is a look at the Baltimore Ravens first injury report of the week.
It’s full steam ahead for the Baltimore Ravens as they forget about the London game and move on to Week 4. This week comes their toughest task so far this season. The Pittsburgh Steelers come into town in what’s set to be a classic AFC North grudge match.
As it seems to be the case for the Ravens this season, injuries have been a major problem. Just today, defensive end Brent Urban was the latest to go on injured reserve. He’ll miss the rest of the season with a Lisfranc foot sprain. He marks the 16th Ravens player to go injured reserve this season. For those of you counting, the Ravens lead the league in this category, with the closest teams at 13.
This week it’s crucial the Ravens stay healthy and get back any players dealing with injuries. They’ll need a full squad to compete in a game against the Steelers that never proves to be easy. Right now there are still key players not practicing, but the injury report isn’t as long as we’ve seen in recent weeks.
Here’s a look:
Injury Report
Did not practice: Jaylen Hill (hamstring), Benjamin Watson (calf), Brandon Williams (foot), Maxx Williams (ankle)
Defensive tackle Brandon Williams did not practice, but was on the sidelines biking. He’s been out with a foot injury he suffered in Week 2 against the Browns. It’s a good sign to see him back and active, but there’s no guarantee he’ll play on Sunday.
With Urban out as well, the Ravens will be without two of their top defensive lineman. There’s still plenty of depth, but not every backup player is a Brandon Williams or Brent Urban. Carl Davis and Willie Henry will continue to see increased roles this season. We’ll probably also see Bronson Kaufusi and Chris Wormley see their first NFL action this season.
Tight end Benjamin Watson was a new addition to the injury report. He’s dealing with a calf injury and with Maxx Williams already out, the tight end group could be desperate for depth come Sunday. Rookie cornerback Jaylen Hill is still dealing with a hamstring injury and hasn’t played since the start of the season. When he returns is still up in the air.
