Back in black: Baltimore Ravens to wear all black uniforms against Steelers
By Joe Schiller
The Baltimore Ravens will take the field on Sunday sporting their all black uniforms. It’s a fan and player favorite, but also the team’s good luck charm.
Everything about Sunday’s game between the Ravens and Steelers gets me excited and it just keeps getting better. The team announced today that they’ll be debuting the all black jerseys against the Steelers and timing couldn’t be any better.

The Ravens have three basic uniform concepts: the purple top with white pants, white top with black pants and all black. The all black is by far the best combination of the three. But it’s not just a clean look, the Ravens play their best when wearing these uniforms. Since debuting them in 2009, the Ravens are 16-6 in the all black. This includes two wins the two times the Ravens wore the uniforms last season.
There’s just something special seeing the Ravens players come out of the tunnel in those uniforms. The atmosphere of the home crowd with AC/DC’s “Back in Black” blaring throughout the stadium get’s you pumped up. The Ravens alternate the pregame introductions between the offense and defense. In Week 2 against the Browns, it was the offense. Guess who’s up against the Steelers? That’s right, it’s the defense.
And don’t think this is all happening by coincidence, the Ravens have planned all of this out. They’re going to make sure everything is perfect ahead of their most important game of the season. Coming off a loss to the Jaguars, the Ravens have the perfect opportunity to get on track with a win against the Steelers. A win keeps them atop of the AFC North and puts them at 3-0 in the division.
