This is a talent issue:

The Baltimore Ravens have little talent on the offensive side of the football. Alex Collins is their best play-maker right now. Collins is coming off the Ravens practice squad. Breshad Perriman hasn’t accomplished much of anything, making him look like a bust. Mike Wallace has been unproductive and had a bad drop against the Steelers. Ronnie Stanley is the only offensive lineman who seems to be worth believing in, with Marshal Yanda being out for the season. At what point do we blame Ozzie Newsome for not providing the offense with talent.

This is not a coaching issue. If you want to find a coaching issue, look at the New York Giants. Ben McAdoo calls the plays for an offense that includes Eli Manning, Odell Beckham Jr., Brandon Marshall, Sterling Shepard and Evan Engram. I would sign up to call plays for that group any day of the week but the Giants are without a win.

Countering Opinion: 3 reasons to fire Marty Mornhinweg

Where are the superstars?

This is not a coaching problem in Baltimore. If Flacco was playing respectably well, it would be different. If the offensive line was getting the job done or the wide receivers were actually receiving a decent number of passes, you could blame Mornhinweg. I just don’t know how much we can expect from an offense that has less play-makers than they ever have.

The Ravens are not getting the job done on offense and the players are the biggest problem. This is why drafting a wide receiver would have made an awful lot of sense. This is why spending money on a free agent weapon would have been a good idea. The Ravens banked on Perriman having a breakout season. Even I fooled myself into thinking that Perriman could do it. It doesn’t look like that is going to happen. The Ravens have the least entertaining offense in football and they don’t have play-makers.
